I am a
female of 25 years of age. I have a predominantly Irish heritage and
am extremely pround of it. One of my ancestors fought along side of
William Wallace. If you don't know who William Wallace is, watch the
movie Braveheart. It's gory but incredible. Needless to say, I adore
that movie, particularly the character of Steven. But I digress...
I'm an
artist by trade, a graphic designer to be more exact. I mostly design
CD-ROM presentations. It is a creative field, but it's all very corporate
which is why I like to delve into fantasy and fun when I do my own personal
art. I'm very much into Anime, Sci-fi and Fantasy and I like to exercise
my imagination by paying creative tribute to these genres.
I love
to draw and illustrate and I adore character creation and rendering.
I'm not as big on actually making backgrounds, but I can do it if I
have to. Since I am very much into my Celtic heritage, I love
to draw elves and faeries and all other manner of mythical beings. I've
actually created my own cells, which is very tedious but fun and rewarding.
I do traditional
art media as well as CG pieces. I firmly believe that you have to have
a firm understanding of art and aesthetics and that the shortcuts that
computers allow do NOT replace these! Yes, I use computers. Yes, I love
how Photoshop simplifies the process and makes things look so pristine
and perfect. But, I went through a ton of art classes to learn all of
the nuances of art before I ever sat down at the first computer. Understanding
color and light and balance and harmony are vital elements. You have
to do that through practice and observation. This is starting to sound
like an art lecture so I'll just move along.
I also
love to read and write. When drawing isn't enough to satisfy my creativity,
I write stories or poetry. I write a lot of fanfiction based on my favorite
Animes, but I also have a lot of ideas rattling around in my head that
I eventually want to flesh out as my own original stories.
I actually
had nearly enough credits in college for an English minor but the classes
I needed to complete to finish the minor overlapped with classes for
my major during my senior year so...no English minor. Degree or not,
however, I pride myself on possessing an excellent vocabulary. I'm also
a stickler for grammar and detail, which brings me to my next point...I'm
a bit on the obsessive/compulsive side.
Sometimes,
I obsess over detail too much. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to
everything that I do. If it doesn't meet my expectations for what it's
meant to be, then no one sees it! I can't even concentrate when someone
is behind me. It sucks every ounce of inspiration right out of me because
I know someone is watching...intruding on my creative process. I'm just
odd that way.
My last
and definitely greatest passion is for music. I do dearly love all of
the other avenues, but I truly feel that music is the purest extention
of my soul. I like a lot of types of music but my favorite type of music
is Celtic music. It must be in my blood because it affects me deeply
every time I hear it. Perhaps more than listening to music, however,
I love to make music. I feel like singing will eventually be my calling.
My greatest dream is to make singing my career some day. I lose myself
in song to a degree that I can't achieve with anything else. It is my
joy.
I have
included a sampling of music selections on this site. These were chosen
very carefully for thier atmosphere to create the right ambiance. I
hope you enjoy them as much as I do for inspiration and uplifting.
Now, I
think I've prattled on enough about myself. If you have any questions
for me, please don't hesitate to contact me. Otherwise, enjoy my site
and have a blessed day.
